description_en: Genus of 5 species of evergreen, epiphytic or lithophytic orchids (often included in Miltonia) from Central and South America, found in mountainous regions from 300m (1,000ft) to over 2,000m (7,000ft). The fleshy, ovoid pseudobulbs are partially covered by soft-textured, linear, grey-green, basal leaves. Decorative, fragrant flowers, with large, flat lips, are produced in racemes from the bases of the pseudobulbs. There are many colourful hybrids, often blooming twice a year, with up to 6 flowers in a raceme.
