description_en: Genus of 5 species of deciduous and evergreen shrubs and small trees from E. Asia, found mostly in upland scrub and woodland and forest margins. They have large, prominently veined leaves, borne in opposite pairs, and terminal panicles or corymbs of salverform, waxy, fragrant flowers with 5 spreading lobes. In frost-prone climates, grow in a cool or temperate greenhouse. In milder climates, grow in a shrub border.
