description_en: Genus of one species of tufted, ever-green perennial from open woodland in the mountains of S.E. USA. It has a creeping rootstock, rounded leaves, and spike-like racemes of small white flowers. Grown for its flowers and autumn foliage colour, G. urceolata is suitable for underplanting in a shaded shrub border, for a large rock garden, or as ground cover in a woodland garden.
