description_en: Genus of 4 species of evergreen shrubs and small trees from woodland in Chile and Argentina. They are mainly grown for their aromatic, leathery leaves, borne in opposite pairs, and their axillary, 4-or 5-petalled, cup-shaped white flowers; L. apiculata is also grown for its peeling bark. Grow as lawn specimens or in a small group; in frost-prone areas, grow in a sheltered border or against a wall. They may also be used for hedging.
