Linear or lance-shaped, 2-pinnate leaves are produced in a terminal tuft above a distinct crown-shaft, with panicles of cup-shaped flowers borne beneath them. In frost-prone regions, grow young plants in a warm greenhouse. In frost-free climates, use arecas as specimen plants.
