Description en: Genus of 50-60 species of cormous perennials from open grassland and hillsides in South Africa. They have ribbed or pleated, often hairy, lance-shaped, mid- to bright green leaves and spikes of funnel-shaped, often strongly scented flowers, 2-4cm (3/4-1 1/2in) across, borne mainly in spring. In frost-prone areas, grow in a cool greenhouse; in warmer climates, plant in a sunny border.
