Distribution en: Subarctic & Subalpine to NE. Mexico and N. Sumatera
Description en: Genus of 15 species of herbaceous perennials found in bogs in temperate regions in the N. hemisphere. They produce basal rosettes of broadly ovate, heart-, or kidney-shaped, mid- to dark green leaves. They are grown for their large, solitary, bowl- or saucer-shaped, white to pale yellow flowers, with yellow, nectar-bearing staminodes, borne on upright stems in spring, summer, or early autumn. Grow in wet soil in a rock garden or bog garden.
