Description en: Genus of one very variable species of climbing, tuberous perennial from woodland and forest, often by rivers, in tropical Africa and India. It is cultivated for its brightly coloured flowers, and is effective when scrambling through other plants. In frost-prone climates, grow in a temperate greenhouse or conservatory. Highly toxic if ingested; handling tubers may irritate the skin.
