Description en: Genus of 10 species of low-growing, basally branching, succulent annuals from open, sandy or rocky areas in South Africa. They have opposite or alternate, narrowly linear to spoon-shaped leaves, glistening with small, crystal-like structures. In summer, they produce numerous long-stalked, daisy-like, white, yellow, orange, pink, or red flowers that close in dull weather. Grow as border edging, to fill gaps in paving, or on a dry slope.

Propagation en: Sow seed at 16-19°C (61-66°F) in late winter or early spring. In frost-prone climates, harden off seedlings, and plant out when danger of hard frosts has passed.
