Salverform flowers, each with a long corolla tube and 5 usually orange or red lobes, are borne in terminal or axillary, 4-sided spikes with prominent bracts. In frost-prone areas, grow in a temperate or warm greenhouse; a few may be used as houseplants. In tropical areas, grow in a shrub border.
