description_en: Genus of 5 or 6 species of short-stemmed, fleshy-rooted, succulent herbaceous perennials, readily forming dense mats or clumps, found in semi-desert areas of Namibia and South Africa. The erect, spoon-shaped to 3-angled, fleshy leaves, thickly crowded with tubercles at the tips, are arranged in attractive basal rosettes. Solitary, daisy-like, yellow or orange flowers are borne during daytime from late summer to early spring. In areas where temperatures fall below 10°C (50°F), grow in a bowl garden indoors or in a warm greenhouse. In warmer climates, grow in a desert garden.
