Description en: Genus of 2 species of suckering, woody-based, subshrubby perennials found in chaparral and sage scrub in S. California, USA, and N. Mexico. They are grown for their glaucous foliage and fragrant, showy white flowers. The leaves are alternate, and pinnatifid to pinnatisect; the poppy-like, solitary, terminal, 6-petalled flowers, with bright yellow stamens, are borne in summer. Grow in a border or, in frost-prone areas, against a warm, sunny wall.

Propagation en: Sow seed at 13-16°C (55-61°F) in spring. Root basal cuttings in spring; insert root cuttings in winter.
