description_en: Genus, allied to Hibiscus, of one species of evergreen tree from coastal woodland in E. Australia. It is grown for its habit, its alternate, simple, entire, leathery leaves, and its solitary, 5-petalled, hibiscus-like flowers, produced from the upper leaf axils. In frost-prone areas, grow in a cool greenhouse. In warmer areas, grow as a specimen tree, or as a windbreak in a coastal garden. Contact with the seeds may irritate skin.
