description_en: Genus of about 60 species of low-growing, branching, perennial succulents from semi-desert areas of South Africa. They have semi-cylindrical or strap-shaped, fleshy, glossy, bright green or pale green leaves, arranged in opposite pairs or alternately along the stems, with 4 or more leaves on a single shoot. Large, daisy-like, bright yellow, rarely white flowerheads are borne singly in the leaf axils, mainly from summer to late winter. Below 10°C (50°F), grow in a warm greenhouse; in warmer areas, grow in a desert garden.
