説明（英語）: Genus of about 170 species of succulent perennials and evergreen shrubs, rarely trees, from dry or semi-moist areas of South Africa, Madagascar, tropical North, Central, and South America, and the West Indies. Many are very succulent, often forming a caudex; other species have tuberous rootstocks. Leaves are alternate and simple, palmately lobed, or finely divided. In summer, diurnal flowers with prominent petals appear singly or in flat-topped cymes. In areas where temperatures drop below 10°C (50°F), grow in a warm greenhouse or conservatory; in warmer climates, plant in a shrub border or use as hedging. All parts contain a milky or watery latex, contact with which may irritate skin.
