精巧丸（セイコウマル）

Pelecyphora asselliformis C.Ehrenb.

植物体は直径2〜5cmの球形〜やや扁平な球形。ワラジムシのような棘座と棘が特徴で、虫嫌いの人には嫌われるかもしれない。花は5月ごろに咲き、紫紅色、直径13〜22 mm。

Distribution range: NE. Mexico (to Jalisco)

名前も姿もよく似た精巧殿（Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus）とは花色が全体に紫紅色なのと（精巧殿は白で中肋が赤紫）、棘が太い（精巧殿は細い）ので区別できる。ワシントン条約附属書Iに記載。
